Homemade prawn pasta or shrimp pasta recipe originally from Mediterranean cuisine is loved by everyone. Very easy to cook this homemade prawn pasta recipe will be always a perfect choice if you have friends over or for weeknight dinner. You only need few ingredients and 30 minutes to cook it.
If you are in a hurry and want to save time you can choose to buy prawns that are already pre-peeled, deveined and boiled ( I always go for this option as is saving me time).
Even though I`m not a seafood lover I find this shrimp pasta recipe very tasty and works very well with a glass of white wine.
Ingredients
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 200gr cooked, peeled organic king prawns
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- Juice of a half lemon
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2-3 spoons of olive oil
- Half of red chilli, chopped
- 30ml white wine
- 200gr-250gr spaghetti
- Chopped parsley, optional
- 20gr shredded parmesan
Instructions
In a medium saucepan put water to boil with salt and a little bit of oil for spaghetti. When comes to simmer add the spaghetti and cook as per package instructions.
Meanwhile in a lukewarm pan add the oil and the butter and let it melt for a little bit.
Add then the garlic, the minced ginger and the chilli and stir. Cook at low heat for 2 minutes to soften all the ingredients.
When the ingredients are tender add the shrimps, put the heat on high and cook the shrimps for about 1 minute and stir continuously. Then add the salt and pepper and stir well. Now is time to add the white wine and cook the shrimps on a high heat for 2-3 minutes.
After 2-3 minutes add the lemon juice stir and leave it simmer for 1 minute. After that you can add the cooked pasta. Turn off the cooker, add the parsley and mix well everything.
Now you can taste and put more salt and pepper if needed. Don`t forget the pasta needs to be cooked al dente.
Serve them hot and with a little bit of Parmesan cheese on top, it will improve the taste. Serve it with a glass a white wine.
Enjoy 😊
