When I saw this homemade chocolate chip cookies recipe I`ve said to myself that I have to try it. I assure you that you`ll never buy anymore cookies after trying the recipe.
This homemade chocolate chip cookies are made with homemade dough and are very delicious.
Ingredients
- 200g butter (room temperature)
- 150g caster sugar
- 150g brown sugar
- 2 medium free range eggs
- 80g walnuts roasted and chopped
- 5g salt
- 5g sodium bicarbonate
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 400g flour
- 150g dark chocolate
- 150g white chocolate
TIP: Ideally use chocolate, not chocolate chips, as we want the chocolate to melt and taste insanely.
Instructions
In a medium bowl put the butter, add on top the caster sugar, brown sugar and mix it with an electric mixer or a hand mixer if the butter is really soft.
Then add the eggs, one by one and from here you can carry on using a spatula as you`ll find it easier.
Next step is to incorporate the dry ingredients the flour, salt, sodium bicarbonate.
TIP: Roast the chopped walnut in a pan or put it for 5 minutes in the oven but keep an eye on it. This will give a sensational taste.
Chop the chocolate, uneven size and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes by doing that we avoiding the chocolate to get melted while we will shape the cookies so this is quite an important step.
Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180 – 200 degrees Celsius as the cookies will be on the oven for about 12 – 14 minutes but keep an eye on them ( depends on the oven ).
We want our cookies to be crunchy on the outside but soft inside.
One cookie should weight around 100g (use the cooking scale or an ice scoop).
Put the roast walnut in the cookie dough, add the chocolate from the freezer too.
Because the dough is quite hard is very important that the chocolate is cold because when we will incorporate everything the chocolate might melts because of the hands warmth (in case the dough is too soft add more flour).
Once the cookies are out from the oven let it cool for about 10 mins and after you can move it from the tray.
If you don`t want to make the whole dough because you`ll have more then 10 cookies, shape the cookies, put it in a ziplock bag and keep it in the freezer this way when you fancy something sweet just pop them in the oven and there you have it, the best cookies EVER.
Eat it while are still warm so you can enjoy the melted chocolate heaven.
